A hands-on Korean cooking class with chef Yun, in our 17th-century barn in the Chiltern Hills. Yun has taught Korean cooking at School of Wok, Books for Cooks and Divertimenti. Now she teaches at her own long table. Choose your menu, then your date.

£120 · 3.5 hours · up to 8 guests · Sun 24 January (vegan) · Wed 3 February · Sun 14 March

Early bird: book by 15 November and take home a free jar of SSUG sauce on the day.

The afternoon begins with a Korean tea ceremony, a quiet moment to arrive. Then aprons on: you cook a full Korean meal side by side with Yun, learning the techniques, the balance of flavours and the small details that make it taste like home. When everything's ready, we sit down together at the long table to eat what you've made, with plenty of time for questions.

About Chef Yun

Yun grew up in Incheon, cooking banquets for Korean family ceremonies alongside her mother. She trained as a fine artist before turning to the kitchen. In London she became head chef for William Norris, catering events at the V&A and the National Gallery, then spent years as a development chef creating Korean and Asian dishes for Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Tesco, and has cooked on ITV. She has taught Korean cooking at School of Wok, Books for Cooks and Divertimenti. Through SSUG she makes small-batch kimchi, sauces and seasonings; at Understory House she brings people to her own long table.
