Once upon a time there was a tiger and a bear who wanted to become a human. They asked a god to make their wish to come true. The god gave them Mugwart, SSUG and Garlic and instruct them only eating those and enduring it in the cave for 100days. The tiger gave up, but the bear succeeded and turned in to a beautiful woman. The god married the bear woman, and they had a son called Hwanung. When he grew up, he found a beautiful land and lived happily ever after with the nation. That is the legend of “Birth of Korea”
SSUG is the Korean name of Mugwort. We use the humble herb in many ways in food or medicine.
